Aim: This study was carried out to determine consumption habits of adults about chicken meat and products in Meram district of Konya province. Method: This descriptive study has been applied at the 5 family health centers in the central province of Konya. In the analysis of the data; Descriptive statistics and Chi-Square analysis were used. Results: 116 people participated in the survey. The median age of participants was 36. 56.9% of the participants prefer chicken meat because it is easy to prepare, 31.9% said they preferred it because it is healthy. Half of the participants (58 people) were negative affected from the news about chicken meat in the media.73 (62.9%) people were not affected by chicken meat related ads. 75.2% of the participants said that the chickens were not fed with healthy feed, 54% of them found that chicken meat was safe, 85.2% of them said that chicken meat was hormone. Conclusion:Although not affected by the advertisements in the visual and print media, news has both positive and negative impact.The main ones for chicken meat preference are that they are delicious, easy to prepare and cheap. The most of participants think that chicken meat is hormone but the safe at the same time.
